Snow Dogs: Skye – An Exciting Day at Low Wray Campsite!

Hello everybody!

I thought I would tell you all what I have been up to recently! Its all been so exciting – I cant wait to tell you what a good little Skye I’ve been!

Well, first of all, everyone was excited in the pack because there were a few dogs that heard our human friends talking about choosing 8 of us guys to go to Wray Campsite to meet 15 new people! We’d be giving them their first mushing experience. Well, I bounded over to my good friend Wolf, all excited, and asked him if he knew whether I was going. . . he said I definitely was! I was so excited; I could hardly contain my happiness!

The day came, this was it! It was amazing weather as we set off and all of us couldn’t wait to get going. I had my own crate whereas the others had to share hehe. My friend Luka was particularly excited.. He would not shut up in fact! Anyway we drove down past Wray Castle about an hour later after picking Tasha up from her house. We parked up in thecampsite at Wray and met Zoe and Helen there – they helped Sonia, Ryan and Tasha make sure we all had our harnesses on and were all watered and had a wee! Oh and we all had cuddles of course! That’s my favourite thing to do before running; a nice big cuddle!

As the day went on, more and more people arrived and between the 8 of us, we all took turns to give the lovely people their first mushing experience – I had so much fun! Luka however decided to jump and shout around like a complete looney, and sadly the person who was supposed to be riding with Luka was put off by him doing this.

I know we can all be noisy but that guy needs to take a chill pill! Everyone was yelling to him to be quiet but Luka never listens; he told us that he is so noisy because he likes to go for lots and lots of walks! Cheeky monkey he is!

But Luka settled down, and Wolf, Blue, Luna, Ice, Luka, Shadow, Blade and myself ended up having an amazing day. We got fussed over, and cuddles and treats, and told how beautiful we all are!! I also had the chance to run with Blue, and I told him a little secret…

“Imagine you’re chasing one of those chickens from the farm by the campsite!”I told him.  

And guess what? IT WORKED!! Everyone was so shocked to see him run like he did! Whether he carries on doing what I told him, I don’t know.. I hope he does!

It came to the end of the day, and the lovely new people said thank you and goodbye, giving us all cuddles and treats. Sonia, Helen, Zoe, Ryan and Tasha took all our harnesses off and told us how good we all were then put us back in our crates and give us all treats before taking us home.

We arrived home and Sonia fed us and put us all to bed. I couldn’t wait to tell the others what an amazing day I’d had! Most of the pack went straight to bed but I couldn’t!! So I thought I would write this to all you lovely people so you can see what I have been up to!

I cant wait for the next time I get to go out with my gang!
