Snow Dogs: Storm - Join my fan club!

Hi guys, Storm here again!

Yesterday I had quite a busy day giving husky rides with Star.

Sonia wanted us ready by 10am to meet our passengers and called over the fence at 9am to remind us both. Zzzzz, I was a bit tired from the day before – I’d been up at Wray Castle with my new friend, Tasha – so I settled my head back down for a quick nap. But it only seemed like a few minutes sleep when I awoke in a panic as I heard the nearby church bells striking 10 ‘O’ clock!

I spun round, wondering why Star hadn’t woken me up, and then I saw why. She was stood over a puddle of water, using it as a mirror to prune her face and ears. Boy, she can be vain at times! I decided to teach her a lesson and crept up behind her before splashing in the puddle and spraying her with lovely fresh mud!

She wasn’t too happy with me . . . so during the rides, she ran as fast as she could, causing me to work hard to keep up. She can be very speedy when she wants to be, and I was soon wide awake running alongside her. It was hard work but it was great to feel the sea breeze as we ran down the tracks near the beach before heading back home.

Star was grinning proudly later in the day and none of us quite knew why. Then she showed us all a drawing that Tasha had done for her before looking at me and saying “Do you see now why I had to look my best, Storm?” I looked round and saw all of the other guys were staring at Star – Luka looked like he had fallen in love! The drawing was brilliant and as much as I hated to say it, it did show off her beautiful looks.

Star also told us that she’d been ‘adopted’ by a girl from Blackpool. The rest of us didn’t know what the word ‘adopted’ meant so Lukanuka howled loudly to make Sonia come outside, so that we could ask her.

“Being adopted means you’ve got people out there who love you dearly” said Sonia. “And don’t worry, you’ll all get adopted at some stage!” “There’s a fan club out there for each and everyone of you!”

We smiled happily. We all can’t wait to get adopted – we get to meet our fans throughout the year, go on mini hikes with them, have a drawing done by artist, Tasha, and even have a special photoshoot together, just like celebrities.
